Sheet Metal

Metal roofing is the most resilient roof covering to be found. When a metal system is installed with precision and care, it will easily last for decades with very little maintenance. Whether it’s a repair or replacement of a metal roof system, Square Roofing Company has the expertise and the manpower to meet any needs.

The term Metal Roofing covers many styles and variations. The most common style is ‘panelized sheet metal’. Some variations of panelized sheet metal are; Standing Seam, R-Panel, and V-Crimp, among many others. These panels are grouped into two categories, concealed fastener and exposed fastener. Standing Seam is a concealed fastener system, whereas R-Panel or V-Crimp are exposed fastener systems. Square Roofing Company is THE expert in these materials.

A Standing Seam roof system installed by Square Roofing is truly something that’s made to last. Our 24-gauge coil stock is manufactured by Mueller Inc., a leader of the building and roofing industries. We are on Muellers Approved Contractors List for the Hill Country area. Call the Comfort Branch for more info.

Our favored Standing Seam panel is the 1.5 by 18 inch Double-Locked style. The roof panels are set in place with specialized clips. The clips are what get screwed to the structure. Then the seamer machine makes a double fold on each panel rib, which sandwiches the clips inside the fold. Also, the entire system is locked to all perimeter and valley lines. These locking and seamed features are what makes the system so durable. We don’t cut corners with time-saving options like ‘nail-strip panels’ or ‘adjustable rake trim’. We use only time-tested methods and materials in order to offer the highest quality Standing Seam roof system available.

Here are some highlights of our Standing Seam roofs.

Exposed Fastener roof systems can serve their purpose very well, especially when the periodical maintenance is done as recommended. With this system the roofing panels are held in place by screws which are exposed to the elements. The screws have a rubber grommet under the hex head. That grommet seals the screw-hole from water intrusion. Depending on the quality of the screw and on the diligence of the installer, the rubber grommet can provide reliable protection for 15 to 25 years. When the grommets reach the end of their life, the roof should have a “re-screw” job done. This involves replacing all of the screws with the next wider diameter screw. The cost of a re-screw job is typically a fraction of the cost of a new roof. Square Roofing is an expert at helping owners get the most out of their metal roofing systems.

Asphalt Shingles

Asphalt shingles are one of the most versatile roofing options available. Their style, coloration, functionality, and pricing can vary greatly. Square Roofing takes the time to help each of our customers understand the differences.

There are two main types of asphalt shingles, 3-tab and Architectural. A less common third type, which has many different “looks”, is known as Designer Shingles.

When we do an estimate for a standard asphalt shingle replacement, we always present our “Good, Better, Best” options. Those options are all from the Architectural family. The Tamko Heritage is our ‘Most economical but still very durable’ shingle option. The GAF Timberline HDZ is our ‘Flagship’ roof system. It has been proven to stand the test of time, and most customers agree that it’s the best looking roof on the market. The GAF Armor Shield 2 is the Flagship system with the ‘Class 4 Hail Resistant’ upgrade. Each of these shingle options has a 50 Year manufacturers warranty. Flat Roofing

Flat roofing can sometimes be the only option for certain structures, or for certain areas of a structure. There are two main types of materials which are used to cover a flat roof. One type uses products which are asphaltic in nature. Torch Down or Built-Up are examples of these types of flat roofs. The other type, such as EPDM or TPO, uses synthetic products which are polymerized in nature. Square Roofing Company has many years of expertise in flat roofing with the asphaltic types of material.

Residential Torch Down

Commercial Torch Down

Whether it’s a small porch roof or it’s a commercial building with parapet walls, we can roof it right. We install 2-ply Modified Bitumen for small areas such as porches or dead valleys. This is a reliable and cost-effective method of roofing in these areas. In addition to using high quality base and cap sheets, ‘edge detail’ is critical for longevity. It’s common to find water damage along the eave of a flat roof. It’s also common to see improper materials used in these “small job” scenarios. Most local hardware stores don’t carry the supporting materials needed to install Modified Bitumen correctly. This can lead to subpar methods being employed. When Square Roofing does the job, we show up prepared to do it correctly.

We also do multi-ply Built-Up-Roof systems. This is the long-term solution for commercial buildings with a low-pitched roof. This system involves layers of ‘reinforcement mat and roofing tar’ sandwiched together, with a final cap layer of granulated modified bitumen. We use the manufactures recommended material and install methods in order to offer enhanced warranties. Our B.U.R. system is guaranteed for 20 years, and is also backed by the manufacturer. In addition to roofing it right, we understand the extreme importance of providing a safe and seamless jobsite. Employees and customers may still need access to the property during the work. We’re diligent in our process of securing the work area, and taking the correct safety measures. We also get the work done in a timely fashion, minimizing our impact on the business.
